People ask us all the time, “Why do you foster?”
And honestly… it’s not just the newborns with ninja-level reflexes or the toddlers who think mud is a food group.
It’s the little moments that make the chaos worth it — a first smile, a shy hug, or hearing a child call our home “their safe place.”
Our family is already big — seven kids, three still at home, a pig who thinks she’s the boss, two parrots that yell commentary, four dogs, and chickens that definitely have opinions.
And yet, we keep opening our doors, because love doesn’t run out. Somehow, it just keeps expanding… even when you trip over a baby gate in the middle of the night.
The Triumphs
Every placement brings triumphs, big and small. The first giggle, the first time they call us Mom and Dad, the first successful bedtime without a meltdown.
Those tiny victories are what keep us going when life feels like organized chaos… with a pig on the couch.
The Trials
Sure, there are trials — sleepless nights, endless diaper explosions, sibling squabbles, and paperwork that could rival a small novel.
But even in the messiest moments, we see growth, resilience, and the beginnings of a story that deserves to be told.
Why We Keep Doing It
Foster parenting isn’t easy. But it’s funny, messy, chaotic, heartwarming, and life-changing — all at once.
We foster because every child deserves love, stability, and a chance to see that even in chaos, grace is real.
Plus… it makes for really good stories.
