And A Pig In The House

Pig inside the house

Let’s clear something up immediately:
this was not part of the original life plan.

At some point, someone said,
“It’ll be fine — she won’t really be *inside*.”

Reader… she lives inside.

We have dogs. We have parrots.
We have chickens.
We have foster kids, bio kids, and visiting kids.
And now, we have a pig who believes the couch is hers.

How This Happened

Like most questionable decisions in our house,
it started with good intentions and zero research.

She was small. She was cute.
She fit in our arms and snorted affectionately.

No one warned us she would grow.

What We’ve Learned

  • Pigs are smarter than dogs
  • They open doors
  • They scream when mildly inconvenienced
  • They remember where snacks are kept

She knows the routine.
She knows bedtime.
She knows who gives in first.

(It’s Christina.)

Why She Fits Here

Our house has always been a place for the unexpected.
Kids arrive with big stories.
Animals arrive with big personalities.

The pig just… fits.

She reminds us daily that life doesn’t need to look normal
to be good.

Chaos? Yes.
Grace? Always.
Pig? Unfortunately permanent.
