Most people get a dog when they want a pet. Or maybe a cat.
We got a pig. An indoor pig named Moonpie. And she is absolutely convinced she runs this household.
Step one in our mornings: don’t wake Moonpie. Step two: hope she doesn’t steal the breakfast toast off the counter. Step three: survive until coffee.
Moonpie is charming, smart, and terrifyingly fast. She can sniff out a snack from three rooms away, and if you look at her the wrong way, she’ll loudly voice her opinion — usually in the middle of a Zoom call.
Honestly, the dogs are starting to look at her like, “We used to be in charge… what happened?”
Chaos & Comedy
Pigs are surprisingly sneaky. Toys disappear, shoes vanish, and last week Moonpie somehow unlocked the pantry door.
The best part? Her timing is impeccable. Just when Mark starts a lecture on “household rules,” Moonpie parades in like she owns the place.
We’ve decided arguing with her is futile — she wins. Every. Single. Time.
Why We Love Moonpie
Sure, she’s a chaos agent. Sure, she’s a little… dramatic.
But she’s also a heartbreaker. One snuffle, one snort, one perfectly-timed head nuzzle, and suddenly all the mess is worth it.
Life is louder, funnier, and way more interesting with Moonpie — our pig who thinks she’s the boss.
Lessons learned: Never underestimate Moonpie, always hide the toast, and embrace the chaos.
