Some families go camping to “get back to nature.” Our family goes camping for sleeping bags full of leaves, marshmallows on fire, and stories that get exaggerated every year. Bonus points if someone forgets the tent poles — yes, that actually happened.
The kids ran around like wild raccoons, the dogs chased shadows, and Dad attempted to build a fire while Mom tried to stop Moonpie from stealing the marshmallows. Somehow, by some miracle (and probably the camping gods laughing at us), we all survived the night, slightly singed but full of memories.
Camping with this crew is not peaceful, it’s a hilarious, messy adventure — and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
