Some families go camping to “get back to nature.” Our family goes camping for sleeping bags full of sand, marshmallows on fire, and stories that get exaggerated every year. Bonus points if someone forgets the coffee — yes, that’s actually happened.
The kids ran around like wild raccoons, digging through food bins like they hadn’t eaten in a week and Dad attempted to build a fire while Mom tried to stop Freya from stealing the marshmallows before even getting the tents set up. Somehow, by some miracle (and probably the camping gods laughing at us), we all survived the night, slightly damp (it’s Florida of course) but full of memories.
Camping with this crew is not peaceful, it’s a hilarious, messy adventure — and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
