Canoes, Currents & Chaos
Category: Outdoor Adventures → Water Adventures

Some people go canoeing to relax. We go canoeing for soggy socks, unexpected splashes, and arguments about who’s steering. Apparently, paddling in sync is not a natural skill for anyone in this family — including me, and I claim expertise.
We had Freya leaning too far over the edge, one dog refusing to sit still, and Moonpie… well, she stayed home, but honestly, she might have done better. Dad insisted he was the only one paddling but somehow I have a blister on my thumb from paddling against him. And the best part? Everyone still laughed thought the arguing.
By the end, we were exhausted, sweaty, and a little sandy— but isn’t that the point? Canoeing with our crew is less “peaceful paddle” and more “controlled chaos on water.” And yes, we’ll do it all again next weekend.
