Laundry, Laughter & Legendary Messes

Pile of laundry chaos

Cleaning the house in our family is less “tidying up” and more “an epic adventure in chaos management.” Imagine me, armed with a vacuum, tackling mountains of laundry while Mark lovingly surveys the scene, muttering “I might need this someday” about random piles of paper, toys, and mysterious sticks he’s collected over the last decade.

The kids are either “helping” (throwing socks over their shoulders like confetti) or making strategic escapes. Dogs are running in and out, leaving muddy paw prints, and Moonpie, our indoor pig, has decided the couch is now her official throne. By the time I’ve folded a third of the laundry, the living room looks like a post-apocalyptic thrift store — but somehow, there’s laughter in every corner.

Lesson learned: in this house, cleaning is not about perfection. It’s about survival, creativity, and occasionally tripping over a sock while laughing so hard your stomach hurts. Chaos and grace, friends — it’s how we roll.
