Family canoeing adventure

Some people go canoeing to relax. We go canoeing for soggy socks, unexpected splashes, and arguments about who’s steering. Apparently, paddling in sync is not a natural skill for anyone in this family — including me, and I claim expertise.

We had two kids leaning too far over the edge, one dog refusing to sit still, and Moonpie… well, she stayed home, but honestly, she might have done better. Dad insisted he knew exactly where we were going, but somehow we ended up circling the same lily pad three times. And the best part? Everyone still laughed until they coughed up water from trying to drink the river.

By the end, we were exhausted, soaked, and a little muddy — but isn’t that the point? Canoeing with our crew is less “peaceful paddle” and more “controlled chaos on water.” And yes, we’ll do it all again next weekend.
